Unveiling HR Strategies: Highlights from PowerToHR Summit

PowerToHR is the biggest summit of HR in Kosovo launched in 2023 by KosovaJob. Supported by IPKO Telecommunications, ProCredit Bank Kosova, and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), #PowerToHR has quickly earned recognition in the region.

GSI Associates participated in both last and this year’s events. GSI Associates found this even beneficial from engaging discussions and valuable insights to enhance professional objectives.

The summit’s objective was to offer dynamic perspectives on digital recruitment, talent acquisition, and employee retention. These perspectives featured insights from international experts in human resources with different global companies.

PowerToHR Agenda

Arion Rizaj, Founder & CEO of Kosova Job & Humanpower, opened the ceremony and introduced the first speaker, Oana Iordachescu. Oana, a Talent Advisor & Former Diversity at Booking.com, delivered a presentation titled “Mastering the Talent Game: How to Attract and Retain Top Talent While Competing with Giants”. She addressed three main pillars of Human Resources: strategic differentiation, agile recruitment tactics and comprehensive retention initiatives.

 

Serdzan Arnautovic, Global Talent Expert, last year speaker and this year’s event Moderator, moderated the panels. The first panel focused on “Talent Acquisition In a Competitive Market: Insights From the Most Demanded Industries”. The panel featured valuable insights from Hana Qerimi, Founder & CEO at Starlabs and Shkolla Digjitale. Moreover, Kaltrina Llonçari, Senior HR Business Partner at Mercedes Benz Financial Services Belux, and Benjamin Kadic, Founder of Popcorn Recruiters shared valueable experiences.

The first panel was then followed by Maud Durand, Former Global Change and Learning Manager at Meta. She delivered a presentation titled “Navigating the Future: An Agile Approach to Talent Development. She focused on the 10 critical skills for the future. As of Durand, Tech controlled is taking three of these skills: AI & big data, technological literacy, design & user experience. The other seven skills remain human-controlled: analytical thinking, creative thinking, leadership & social influence, resilience, flexibility & agility, curiosity & lifelong learning, motivation & self-awareness, empathy & active listening.

The Second Part of the Event

The focus of the second panel was on “Employee Experience in the Digital Age: Balancing Between Technology and Human Touch”. The panel included talented and experienced speakers such as: Elida Motro, Director at EMI Coaching and Consulting Albanian, Sneza Brzakov, Director of HR at Marriot Skopje, and Teuta Abdullahu, Head of HR at TEB Bank Kosova.

The event was closed with Katrina Collier, Speaker & Author of “The Robot-Proof Recruiter”, who emphasised the role of HR professionals in the recruitment process. She emphasised their responsibility for ensuring successful outcomes through close cooperation and effective teamwork.
